What we do

We will transform your business process in areas that are difficult to go from physical to digital. Take, for example, the establishment of the true identity of a client in the digital space or create legally binding electronic documents admissible in court such as e-contracts, statements and consents of clients. Lawmakers are creating an increasingly tightening legal cloud that governs how we do digital business today.

What is quite usual in the physical world, might turn a bit upside down when trying to mirror the same process in the digital world.

How to substitute in-person meetings and identification of an individual?

How to check government issued IDs like passports remotely?

How to have your client sign an e-contract to make sure you have legal coverage in a digital transaction?

These are common questions decision makers raise. Service and technology providers are many and offering excellent quality services in their particular domain. But what lacks is the full identification and contracting process and how to put technology together in a legally compliant way. That is the challenge.

We are here to help!

How we work

We always start with the legal layer. We design your digital process from a legal compliance point of view. Our clients face a difficult task to go digital yet remain legally compliant in a complex Legal Cloud. Main examples are AML regulations (Anti Money Laundering), KYC regulations (Know Your Customer), GDPR regulations (regulations to protect data and confidentiality), eIDAS regulation of the EU on digital identities, digital archiving regulations and regulations related to court admissible electronic documents in general.

Once we have the legal cloud defined for your operations, we build the second layer which is the technology layer. We will tell you exactly what the technology is to achieve legal compliance and how to implement it in its best form. We will define for example, how you should set up a remote identification process or what type of e-signature to use. Now, you have a digital business process that is both legally compliant and technologically defined.

BENNELL Consulting has partners to deliver the full digital process. Should you trust us with delivering the digital toolset, we will integrate them into your currently existing IT solution environment based on what you already have and what you need to complement it with. These solutions are almost never the same and you need the flexibility and choice for technology components to integrate. We will guide you through the integration process as a client side consultant if you chose to have a solution provider already working for you. Thus we ensure the success of the digital transformation process.

What a typical project would look like

We first build the legal process for a particular digital process. Going digital in areas previously based on paper and/or physical processes such as meeting a client personally starts with legal compliance. Industries vary in terms of legal regulations imposed upon them. For example, the financial service industry is heavily regulated whereas the e-commerce or labor related regulations are less strict. We will work with you to set up the digital process based on the regulatory environment you operate within. At the end of the day, there will be a paragraph behind each and every push of a button in your new digital process.

Once the legal process is defined, we will put together all technological components necessary to achieve legal compliance. Learn about the main toolsets we utilize here. We will tell you exactly what technologies you must use and in what order and logic to fulfill legal compliance in the new digital process. For example, we will tell you what you need to use in order to satisfy AML criteria in a KYC scenario, or how to identify your clients online to securely sign a remote e-contract with them or simply make sure they are who they claim to be.

At this stage, our clients know exactly what to do in order to become fully compliant with the law, what the technology is to use and how to apply them. We can remain on your side as consultants representing you along the implementation phase and make sure you get what we planned in the first two stages. Alternatively, our partners are ready to deliver the solution components or even the full integration based on what you already have in your currently existing IT solutions environment. Depending on complexity, most integrations are service based and can be done rapidly at a low initial cost.

We assist you as long as you need us. You have full flexibility in terms of the depth of our involvement.

Toolset

In order to achieve legal compliance in the digital world, there are a variety of tools and service providers to use. We partnered up with a few who are the best at what they do. When constructing a new digital procedure, we will make sure that these tools are correctly used and put in a workflow that satisfies user-friendliness.

We are familiar with these technologies, so you do not have to be. What is more, we know the legal cloud in which we have to put these technologies into work.
